BELO 2025 Awards Ceremony

In 2025, the BELO Contest (Brillando En La Oscuridad – Shining in the Darkness), a flagship project of the Europamundo Foundation, will celebrate the success of its 2nd edition on October 9, the eve of World Mental Health Day.
Conceived by Luís García, founder and honorary president of the foundation, and promoted in collaboration with Francisco Cánovas from Rotary International District 2201, the contest aims to combat the stigma around mental health — a critically important issue increasingly reflected daily in companies and society worldwide.

The contest tackles stigma by:
- Sharing the talents and emotions of individuals who suffer from, or have overcome, mental or emotional disorders.
- Sharing the emotions, challenges, and achievements of family members and close friends of those affected by mental health issues.
- Highlighting initiatives and outcomes from institutions and professionals involved in mental health support.
In its 1st edition in 2024, the contest featured 9 categories, reached participants from 14 countries, with nearly 900 entries, and awarded 33 prizes.
